Competitors

Congratulations to Steve Graham/Tony Graham who finished 1st in class and 29th overall on the Jim Clark International in their diesel Astra.

Congratulations to Dave Walker who finished 1st overall and 1st in class on the recent Loughborough Car Club grass autotest in his Mini. Giles Smith also took part in his Peugeot 106, finishing 11th overall and 10th in class.

Congratulations to Ashley Woodward who won his class on a Hillclimb on 18th May, in his MG.

Dave Walker finished 7th in class on a car trial at Burton Dassett on 18th May in his Proton.

Giles Smith will be competing on his first ‘proper’ event, the Huntsman Endurance Rally 31 May/1 June, in his Peugeot 106, navigated by Jamie Cooper. Dave Walker/Chris Thorley (Mini) and Rob Stubberfield/Chris Faulkner (Punto) will also be out on the event.

Steve & Tony Graham's programme of events for 2008 is as follows:- 7 June - Rally Show Chatsworth; 17 July - Manx International (BRC); 22 August - Ulster International (BRC); 27 September - Yorkshire International (BRC); 14 November - Roger Albert Clark - Lancia Fulvia; 27 Nov - Wales Rally GB (BRC)

Pete Grant will be navigating Darren Docherty in his Subaru on the Weeton Stages on 8th June.

Max Hartley/Pete Grant will be taking part on the Dukeries Rally 14th June in Max’s MG ZR.

Ashley Woodward and Adrian Hodgkinson’s intended programme of sprints for 2008 are as follows:- 15 June -  Silverstone; 3 August - Curborough; 30& 31 August - Anglesey; 20 September - Harewood.

James Worth/Colin Stephens will be taking part on the Rally of the Midlands 20th-21st June in their 2.0 Sunbeam.

Pete Grant will be partnering Darren Docherty on the Tyneside Stages on 22nd June in the Subaru and competing on the Scottish on 28th June next to Tony Thompson in the Chevette.

Chris Faulkner/Chris Thorley are entered on the Cloverleaf Clubmans Rally on 6th September in their Sierra.. Alice Thorley will be navigating Chris Valentine on the same event in a Peugeot 106.

Diary Dates/Events & Regulations

This year the Rally of The Midlands will take place Friday 20th & Saturday 21st June. Giles Smith has a set (4) of part used 185 55 VR15 Firenza tyres – they’re V rated and have a good 8mm tread wear and are immaculate £60 the lot. He also has a deal on drums of Motul Oil, fully synthetic 10w40, £7 per litre (£15 at tweeks). Coalville Car Club have now adopted a Child Protection Policy. A Permission Form to be completed by parents or guardians of all persons under 18 attending any events as part of Coalville Car Club is available from the Clubs’ Child Protection Officer Chris Faulkner.

The Club Championship in 2008 has a new category - the "Highway Lighting & Signs Cup" will be awarded to the best "All-Rounder"; members will score points for each separate category they compete in; i.e. Stage Driver, Road Rally Nav, 12 car Driver, Marshal etc. Best score form each possible discipline to count. Minimum 3 categories one of which must be Marshalling, required to register a score.

Chris Thorley has a supply of 2008 Blue Books from the MSA & a copy of the spring edition of "Motorsports Now".

Chris Faulkner has A.N.E.M.M.C yearbooks if anyone needs one.

Chris Thorley has the DVD from the Motorsport Safety Fund. Available to anyone and everyone.
