Coalville Car Club

Weekly Bulletin No: 147 - 24th March 2009

There were 2 CCC Crews out on the DnR Challenge 12 Car last week, Colin & James finished 3rd, and Darren & Ben 5th. Chris F, Tony Smith, Charlie Francis, John Brindley and Jamie McLean all marshaled.

After a 7 year lay-off, Stuart Alexander entered his 3rd ever stage rally and finished 39th overall from 70 starters and 9th in class in his Peugeot 205 1.6Gti on the AGBO stages rally.  Many Coalville members were involved in the original preparation of the car back in 2002.  Thanks to James Worth for the on event service support.  The next event is the Horiba D'Isis Stages Rally at MIRA on April 4th.

A reminder to the Sprinters that we are an invited Club to Nottingham Sports Car Club events. The first event is at at Curborough on 10th May looks likely to have 4 or more timed runs, so offers great value for money. Regs and entry forms from their website (http://www.gosprinting.co.uk)

The 50th Dukeries Rally is running on June 13th .  - Lindholme Motor Sports Club have asked for Marshals on Clipstone South stage - which will be run twice. Full details from John Brindley, or Chris Faulkner.

The Club has been invited to have a stand at the Rally Show at Chatsworth on June 6/7. However as the minimum cost would be £150 we can’t see that it would be value for money. However if anyone is feeling rich or has a generous sponsor, then the Club is more than willing to support anyone who would like to go. Chris F. has full details.

The Club and 12 Car Tables have been updated for the DnR Challenge. If you are doing any events, please let us know, and forward results so we can keep the tables up to date. Last year there were 316 scores listed in the tables. Which is a great achievement for such a small Club.

The Final Round of the 12 Car Series is our own Novice Trophy Rally run by Chris Faulkner on April 8th. This is our traditional end of season bash, with a special award, the Novice Trophy, for the best finishing novice crew. Full details will be on the 12 Car Page . The entry is now full, with reserves; but Chris still needs more marshals, please help if you can. The event starts and ends at The Odd House, Snarestone. The whole event is on Map 140. Please contact Chris if you can help.

The 12 Car Series Awards will this year be combined with Rugby M.C.'s A.G.M. and Awards on April 22nd at Historic Motorsport Ltd. In Daventry. Full details will be posted as soon as they are available. HML is well worth a visit if you haven’t been before. The Museum is a great venue and workshops always have something interesting to see as well. There is a link to HML on the Links Page.

Our A.G.M. and Awards Night is scheduled for Wednesday April 15th at the New Inn. As well as the awards, there will be a Buffet this year curtsey of Norwich Union and the M.S.A. who gave us a generous donation for Marshalling on the Norwich Union Classic.
