Huntsman Enduro
Rally on May 30/31st :
The event is still short of marshals for the road rally - please
contact our Chief Marshal Anita Thouless
p.thouless@ntlworld.com
We have been asked to run a Selectif on the
Huntsman Enduro Rally
on May 30th. The
Selectif is only 1½ miles from the New
Inn, so very much on the doorstep. We will need at least 25 people, for Start /
Finish and to mark Course Penalties. Please ask friends, relatives or any other
responsible people. Signing on is at 14:15 128-393/192 , and first Car is due
at 15:50. If you haven’t contacted John Brindley aj-brindley@hotmail.co.uk to Marshal on Saturday
afternoon, please get in touch. Our friends from Rugby MC will be joining us.
Chris Faulkner & Chris Thorley are
seeded at 11 (no pressure then) and would like some friendly waves on the way
past. It’s the first event in the Pug 106 Rallye (ex-Giles Smith) so
nerves are a bit in evidence.
We have been asked to Marshal on this year’s
Aviva Classic Rally on Sunday Sept 20th; we usually
support this, in the past at Snibstone. This year they would like help at MIRA, see below:
I am the route co-ordinator
for the Chester start of the Aviva Classic Rally - formerly known as the
Norwich Union Classic which this year will be held on Sunday Sept 20th. The
route will call in at MIRA, Hinkley en route to the finish at Silverstone
and I wonder if any of your Club members may be willing to help marshal
the stage. The first car is due at MIRA at approx 11.20 (times are not yet
finalised) and the cars from Chester are followed by those from the Nottingham
start which will arrive from about 12.30. The whole event should be clear of
the stage by about 2.30 to 3pm.
Last year there were about 100 cars from each start venue so about 200 cars
could be expected. No timing is involved - merely proof of passage on a
competitor's card plus a check sheet. Normally only a handful of marshals are
needed at the various controls but since MIRA is ultra sensitive, they usually
require a small token presence in stage to ensure cars do not go astray or to
report breakdowns etc.
If you would like to go, please let John
know. It’s the day after the Mercian and hopefully we can support both.
Ashley Woodward managed 1st in
Class and 10th O/A on the Scammonden Dam Hillclimb last weekend.
Ben Heggs finished 4th in Class
on the CSMA Northwest Autosolo.
Dave Walker was also out last weekend on
the Warwickshire Car Trial, finishing 15th O/A and 9th in
Class.
Andy Mee won his Class on the Nottingham
SSC Sprint at Curborough on May 10th
Regs and Entry Forms are now available for
the Mercia MS multi venue autotest, Chris Valentine has asked us to host them so just follow the Link on
the Home page. The date is Sat. July 4th
, let Chris know if you may be interested in competing or marshalling. christopher_valentine@goodyear.com
Could all interested parties if you could
please let John Brindley know numbers and availability,
Rugby MC have again asked us to help on the
Mallory Park Stages on the Rally of the Midlands on June 19/20.
There are 6 Stages at Mallory, in pairs. One visit on Friday evening and 2
visits on Saturday. Duncan Lord is Stage Commander. Since Rugby will be helping
us on the Huntsman, we need to get as big a team as possible out on both
events. If you can go on either (or both) Friday and Saturday, please let John
Brindley aj-brindley@hotmail.co.uk
know.
Thanks
to those of you who have sent in Pictures, have a look at the Galleries for new
additions, and keep those pictures coming.
